Drumming is more of a long-distance track event than a sprint. Thus, endurance is the key to success. Keeping a steady practice schedule and a focused and energetic mindset are what separates the men from the boys. However, this is all highly dependable on one thing: motivation. Without it, you’ll never achieve your goals. It’s hard to keep a consistent and high level of motivation throughout our lives. Nonetheless, there are tools one can use to keep high spirits. In this video, Jared Falk discusses how to use social achievement and accountability to increase your motivation and drumming skills.
Accountability is the admission of responsibility for our actions. It encloses the obligation to report, explain and be answerable for resulting consequences. Exposing your plans to the world or a couple of friends might seem risky but will actually make you more prone to complete them since you won’t want to look like a loser.
To help get his point across, Jared Falk decided to set an extremely challenging and ambitious goal for himself. If you’re curious about its outcome, watch this video. We encourage you to check the video out even if you’re not interested in the social challenge concept. It’ll enable you to learn how to play some very cool and challenging patterns.

years ago I use to have a drum set and had to sell it to move out. I had not had one since. I taught me self to drum. I love it but I could not figure out how to use the bassith out the use of my legs. I purchase a amplifier and electronic drum sound and used the bass off of that. My question is, is their a way of drumming with no use of the legs and be able to have the bass? Need info. Hope to get back to drumming. Thanks!
Bonjour Jared ,

Jared,
I have used your method of Social Challenge many times. I discovered this tool of accountability a long time ago. People that use this type of accountability tend to be highly motivated.
You’re a great teacher. Thanks for all your free stuff. I look forward to when you start excepting online students again.
